wurden von dem ersten Betreiber \u00d6BB (\u00d6sterreichische Bundesbahnen) hohe Anspr\u00fcche gestellt. Das Design der Kopfpartie konnte durch eine Materialkombination umgesetzt werden: die mehrfach gekr\u00fcmmte Dachhaube, die Ecks\u00e4ulenbereiche, und die Leuchteneinfassungen bestehen aus Glasfaserverbundwerkstoff und sind mit einfach verformten Stahlblechen kombiniert. F\u00fcr diese Lok sind die \u00d6BB 2001 mit dem \u201eBrunel Award\u201c f\u00fcr herausragendes Eisenbahn-Design ausgezeichnet worden. Zitat aus der Werbekampagne der \u00d6BB: \u201eNoch nie waren 10.000 PS so formsch\u00f6n. Noch nie waren 86 Tonnen so elegant.
